Australian Association Gerontology

Australian Association of Gerontology

Broadly, gerontology is the study of ageing and older adults. The field of gerontology is multidisciplinary and considers physical, mental and social aspects and implications of ageing.

Since 1964, AAG has connected individuals and organisations to facilitate collaboration and curate knowledge to improve the experience of ageing. We are Australia’s peak national body linking research, policy and practice across the multidisciplinary fields and sectors of ageing. Our members include researchers, aged care professionals, geriatricians, nurses, aged care, health and allied health professionals, and other leading thinkers in ageing. Importantly, our membership includes individuals who support our purpose: older adults, family and friends, and general members of the community.
