Benny joined the Post Polio Victoria Board in mid-2025 after working for many years as a doctor in Addiction Medicine and Public Health.
He caught polio at the age of one and benefited from tendon surgery on his right leg at the Alfred Hospital 12 years later.
Benny volunteered in various community services in Victoria. Muscle weakness however set in during later years which led to his interest in the work of the Post Polio group in Victoria and becoming involved in its activities.
